If you would rather spend the day afloat, you can choose to have lunch on board anchored at one of the many beautiful areas of the Solent.
At an additional cost to our Charter Packages we can supply a buffet style lunch on board, please contact us for further details. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring lunch with you.
All of the Solent's anchorage spots have something different to offer and whatever the weather, one will always give shelter.
Popular Anchorages
Alum Bay
Situated down by the Needles at the western end of the Solent, dramatic views and enough room for some water sports. Great when the wind is light or from the East.
Osborne Bay
Overlooked by Osborne House, famed as Queen Victoria’s home, the bay is very popular and can get very busy in the summer months but close into the shore can be sheltered, if crowded.
Newtown Creek
Once the capital of the Isle of Wight, very sheltered inside the creak and being a National Trust site its is very un spoilt. There is a good anchorage just outside for water sports.
Hurst Castle
Again to the West, Hurst castle is the dramatic fort built to ward of the French, it provides a dramatic backdrop to some of the Solents most fierce yacht racing.
Beaulieu
The lower river has some superb spots for a lunch stop and the reach up to the village of Beaulieu has lovely mooring spots to watch the world go by in slow motion.
Sea View
At the Solents eastern end, watch the ships coming and going from Portsmouth, the picturesque village of Sea View with its excellent Yacht club in the background, it can be a charming spot for lunch.
